Production Schedule/Risk Assessment

In order to keep organised and ensure everything goes to plan, I have created a production schedule, giving every detail of filming. As well as this I have completed "risk assessment" so that I remember to take into consideration health and safety factors that have the potential to occur during filming.

I have decided to film my short film in its entirety in a two day period. Starting from 10am and finishing at 5:30pm on Monday 29th October, and starting at 11am and finishing at 5:30pm on Tuesday (these are rough timings and may change depending on how well filming goes and including quick lunch breaks etc..). Although this is a really intensive way to go about filming, from last years' experience with my AS opening sequence I see many benefits to it. I have known of people who film footage over a 2-week period (example) on odd days and hours who have said that they find it difficult to remember where they got up to/what they planned to happen next. I found this too with my GCSE music video - it was difficult to get back into the swing of things. As well as this I feel it is easier to ask my actors for a lump amount of time rather than needing them a few hours every other day, for example, through which they may not always be available. I am filming on the first two days of half term, giving me a few more days to re-film if need be. My actors are more likely to be available for this as they, nor I, will be at school.

Although two whole days of filming sounds intensive for my actors, they will not all be needed. I only need Katie on Monday, Edward Monday and 2 hours on Tuesday, and Rhys Tuesday afternoon. Due to this I feel my filming schedule suits everyone well.
