| checked/striped shirts |
Today I ventured into by brothers wardrobe in order to find some potential
costumes for him to wear. Ed will need four different costumes, one more than Katie, as he will feature in the present-day scene where he his sketching and reminiscing about their last dates. I want my male character to dress informally, but not to look too contemporary - as I don't want my film to be interpreted as modern. I have picked four of Ed's shirts, each of them being pretty classic and timeless in terms of fashion and style. As he will be playing the role of an artist (or a fan of sketching!), I want Ed to wear clothes that look quite informal and a little scruffy at times in order to convey his creative and quirky side.style. These shirts I feel are perfect for this role as they can be worn with sleeves rolled up and with a rough collar. I will need to be careful however that due to this my character looks to modern, so I have decided to pair the shirts with black trousers and black smart shoes which tend to give off a more "classic" and smart look. Although I only have access to one pair of trousers and shoes, Ed's bottom half will only be in
shot for two of the scenes so I am hoping the no-change will not be noticable. As with Katie, the costumes may be a little thin for the time of year - so Ed may also wear a plain black jumper during the park scene, which I feel will fit in with the characters dress style fine.

The shirts can be worn in any particular order/for any particular scene as I feel that they are all the same sort of style which I want to convey. Additionally, unlike with Katie, sizing is not an issue as the clothes are actually owned and warn by Edward - making for one less thing I need to worry about!
