I have been very busy creating the music for my short film, and I am now finally finished! As stated previously, I put together two guitar tracks and some horns which I created as a bass - line. Since then I got my classmate Jonny to create me a drumbeat on Garageband, which gives my film more of an upbeat tone. The four tracks (the two strummed guitar beats, the drumbeat and the horns), make up my whole piece, although parts are added and taken away at different moments in the film in order to present different emotions through particular parts. The main changes are:- The horns taken away for all the awkward moments to convey a sense of suspicion (without the horns there is no main tune)
- The horns and one strummed guitar track taken away during the office 'thinking' scenes in order to convey a relatively mellow thought pattern
- A solo drumbeat during the redrawing of the rubbed out shot (leading to the scene of how the character wishes things went), in order to build up to the climax, the horns come in just before the drawing cuts to the shot, and then the guitar tracks come in during the final few shots of this scene (the hugs) where the film comes to a conclusion and reality is restored (that this didn't actually happen)
I am really pleased with the music as I feel that it suits the tone I wanted to go for well, without being too cheesy! This now means that my short film is finished!
