Music

Although I have discussed music previously, I still have not created my musical score. Instead, I found a track on Garage Band to represent the type of music I will be going for. Whilst editing however, I have re-remembered that I will actually need to create my own music! This will not need to be completed until the final edit, and the draft can include drafted music, which can include something of a similar sort of style of theme.

I have spent come time thinking about how, physically, I will create my musical score. The track I chose previously has the happy, quirky feel I want my score to have. Thinking about instruments however, I feel that the easiest instrument to convey a quirky sound would be a ukulele, as they don't tend to be described as a serious instrument (similarly to my film which I want to be light-hearted and not taken too seriously). This is also handy as I own one, although I have no idea how to play it! It's a fairly easy instrument to play, and playing guitar, I am hoping I will pick it up relatively quickly - I am only planning to learn 4-5 chords which I will repeat. After recording this on Garage Band I will use the multi-track option to add other software instruments whereby I will be able to use the same chords/notes with strings/other instruments (for more intense moments in my film) - I will experiment around with this. If I fail miserably with learning the ukulele I do know numerous people who have played before, who I am sure wouldn't mind me recording a few bars (there is always 'ukulele for dummies' as featured below!). I will compose my piece after I have edited together the visuals of my film and have completed the making of my titles.
