Film Poster - Audience Feedback

To gain audience feedback about my poster, I went around my school common room asking my target audience, teenage females, about what they liked/disliked about the four poster examples I produced. As well as asking which poster they preferred, I also asked which aspects they would take from each in order to create the perfect poster (e.g. the font size from one but background of the other etc). Here are some positive comments they made overall:

  • "I like the sketch, it seems to go with your film idea well"
  • "I really like the tagline, good pun"
  • "The tea stain looks really realistic!"
  • "I like the font of the title, it really represents the film idea well"
  • "The crumpled paper background is a great idea!"

There were a few negative comments, although these were only made on the first poster:
  • "The billing block is in an odd position"
  • "I think the title needs to be a little bigger"

When asked about which poster they preferred, an overwhelming 90% liked every aspect of the final poster (what I had hoped!). 10% (1 out of the 10 participants) preferred the first poster, although said this was simply in terms of the background colour, and providing the title font was bigger. However, naturally I want to go with the design which I am the happiest with, and with what the vast majority consensus was. So design four is my winner! Before I can submit my official, completed poster, I still need to come up with a second quotation (not "something something"!), and re-look at the positioning of the quotations, as I am still not 100% happy with them being so parallel to the actors names!
