"Little White Lies"

As well as looking through Empire and Sight and Sound magazines when thinking about film reviews, I have recently come across a couple-of-monthly magazine called "Little White Lies", which, after having a quick look through, I think is even more suitable for my short film to be based in. It's not as popular as magazines such as Empire, but I feel it is more realistic in terms of my short film. My film, obviously, is independent (particularly as it's short), and is definitely not going to be comparable to the high-impact blockbuster films often reviewed in Empire. Although the latter does take into account less-known, art-house films, they tend to be displayed within the last few pages of the magazine, and are in less detail. Little White Lies also reviews large Hollywood films, but pays equal attention to the lesser known - so in many ways, it is more appropriate. Despite this, I will definitely take ideas from both magazines in order to get "the best bits"!

An issue of "Little White Lies" - there is a
strong focus on the designers creating all
the images themselves, this is a replica

A last page in Empire magazine - a few
short, paragraph reviews of some smaller,
independent films
