Focus Group

After coming up with a more detailed idea of my short film after my participants had submitted their questionnaires, I decided to do a focus group with just a couple of members from my target audience to see their opinions of my updated idea - mainly the "timeless" aspect. The participants featured in the focus group had also filled out my original questionnaire so know the main jist of the story. Focus groups are great ways to receive feedback as it gives participants a better time frame to say more and describe their opinions in further detail. When ideas are this complex, it is much easier to receive qualitative data than quantiative numbers, which are only useful to an extent (when ideas have not yet been finalised).

The two audience members I interviewed tended to agree with my suggestions - which is good! So I will...

  • Have the characters wearing a dress, blazer -smart clothes
  • Consider filming in locations/activities such as picnics, dinner, walks in the park
  • Continue with my idea!
